Privacy policy

Last updated August 23rd, 2026. Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can have it deleted by asking.

What we collect

What we do not collect

We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell, rent or trade your email address to anyone, for any amount of money. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.

Why we collect it

To send you the newsletter you asked for, to reply to you, to moderate comments, and to understand which coverage is worth continuing. Nothing else.

How long we keep it

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for two years so we can follow up on a story. Comments stay attached to the article. Analytics are aggregated and retained for 24 months.

Who else can see it

Our newsletter is sent through an email delivery provider that processes your address solely to deliver our messages. Our site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs. Neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Your choices

To exercise any of this, use the contact form and choose "Something else". We reply within 30 days.

Cookies

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we later add a feature that needs a cookie — remembering that you dismissed a banner, for instance — we will say so here before it ships.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will date the change here and note it in the newsletter rather than updating it quietly.
